Large Alocasia Regal Shield

Alocasias in general are known for their stunning foliage, and this ‘Regal Shield’ hybrid is no exception. It’s named for its large — up to 20 inches! — triangular, shield-shaped leaves, which are a deep, dark green (almost black in some cases) and velvety to the touch, with a contrasting purple-y mauve (the color of royalty) underside. This large plant arrives up to 30″ tall and can grow up to 5′ feet under optimal conditions (it prefers a higher humidity environment).
